Obligated To Greatness

Becoming True Worshippers

Becoming true worshippers of God will cost us far more than what we can imagine but the rewards will be infinitely far more than what we can dream of.

For us to become true worshippers of God we need to understand worship. Worship is a response to the revelation of who God is. The greater our understanding of who God is and what He has done for us, the more true and deeper our worship will be.

The essence of worship is our understanding that EVERYTHING centres around Him. It is all about Him. True worship is costly and at times painful. Worship was first mentioned in the Bible when God asked Abraham to offer up his only son as an offering. Abraham told those who were with him that he was going to worship God (Gen 22:5)

Here the Bible reveals to us that worship is to offer up those things to God that you love the most. Worship is to place God above every other thing or person in your life. Worship is to make sure that there is no idol throne in your heart. Worship is to recognise who God is and to respond appropriately to Him.

He is Maker and Owner of heaven and earth, He is the Lord of  hosts, He is Master and Teacher, He is the Prince of Peace. He is Lord. He is the Great I Am. The Alpha and Omega, the Bright Morning Star. He is the Healer, the Provider, the God that is more than enough. He is the Lord God Almighty, Sovereign, full of splendour and might. He is full of compassion and love. He is the risen King. My Daddy Lord, Jesus, the Lover of my soul. He is my ALL in all.

Everything in the universe centers around Him. He is the reason for our existence. In Him we live and move and have our being.

EVERYTHING RISES AND FALLS ON LEADERSHIP

Everything  rises and falls on leadership – John Maxwell

If everything rises and fall on leadership, that makes leadership the most powerful force in the world. Thoughts, ideas and concepts are the most powerful tools in the earth, but they mean nothing without leadership. Only leadership can cause ideas, thoughts and concepts to become a reality.

You may posses the best ideas, but it will benefit no one unless you exercise leadership over them. You might have all the gifts of the Holy Spirit and an unshakable trust in God, it will benefit no one unless you exercise leadership over them. The kingdom of God is established through kingdom leadership.

Leadership is influence. The most important person that any leader has to influece is themselves. Many businesses will never be established, many books will never be written, many souls will never get saved, many destinies will never be reached because people lack self-leadership.They do not  even follow their own dreams and desires.

Everything that has ever been establish or accomplished, good or bad, was done so through the exercising of leadership. The greatest failure of mankind is not to give leadership to the greatest force in the universe, God’s word. The Greatest Commission is all about giving leadership to God’s word.

God’s kingdom can only be established when God’s people exercise godly leadership. People comes  into the kingdom because someone LEAD’S them to Christ. Responsibility is the beginning of leadership. Let us take responsibility for this world and people who live in it by giving leadership to God’s Word.

Know Who You Are!

When satan tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden, he tempt her with something that she already had. He deceived her into believing that she did not have what she already had. Not knowing who you are and what you have in Christ is the number one way the enemy defeat many Christians today.

He tells them that they are guilty when the Bible says; “That the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.” Christians walk around in condemnation when the Bible says; “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

He tells them that they are worthless when the Bible says; “We are a royal priesthood, a chosen generation.” He tells them that they have no hope for a future when the Bible says; “I know the plans that I have for you”; declares the Lord your God. “Plans to prosper you and to give you a future and an expected end.”

Satan will cause you to worry and paint a picture of failure in your mind. God’s word declare that we can cast our worries on Jesus for He cares for us. The Bible says that God will always lead us to triumph.

When the devil tells you that you will never get healed, just laugh at him and tell him that you do not plan to get healed. Tell him that according to 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 24 that by the stripes of Jesus you were already healed. Past tense.

Everything you need has already been made available to you through the death of Jesus on the cross. Ephesians chapter 1 verse 3 tells us that God has already blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings. If you want to overcome life’s challenges, you need to know who you are in Christ and what is yours as a result of Christ death and resurrection.

God’s blessings to you.

The Road to all Spiritual Blessing – November 2008

cros_anmThe road to healing, restoration, breakthrough, revival and every other spiritual blessing that you can think of is shorter than what you may think. As a matter of fact God declares that He has already blessed us with all spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3).Healing is already yours. Restoration is already yours. Breakthrough is already yours. Revival is already yours. It is our thinking that often keeps us from taking a hold of spiritual realities and making it manifest in the physical realm.

Our thinking can either release the blessings and power of God in our lives, or it can release the destruction of the devil. Wrong beliefs can make our lives miserable. It can can cause constant spiritual defeat in our lives. Prayer is not something we do to overcome God’s reluctance to answer our prayers. Prayer is a vehicle that helps us take a hold of what God already made available to us and what He already has placed with in us. As our minds are transformed by the word of God and our thinking lines up with God’s thinking, it releases the blessings of God in our lives like never before.

Jesus taught His disciples to start praying by saying “our Father”. In other words how we see God and how we see ourselves is priority when we approached God in prayer. When we approached God in prayer for anything it is important that we have the right beliefs. The right identity about ourselves and about God. The road to all spiritual blessings begins with renewing our minds so that our thoughts line up with God’s thoughts. Jesus said; “You shall know the truth and the truth shall makes you free.”

Mamma said that there will be Days like this! (October 2008)

Have you ever felt that things are falling apart; things are getting worse instead of better? Brenda Fasie used to sing a song in the eighties that says; “Life is going on – and it’s up to you and me – what we’re going to do?” When life give us its worse blows, when it seems all odds are against us, when you wearing dark glasses to hide your tears, when every step you take hurts, remember, “mamma warned us that there will be days like this”, but she neglected to tell us, that it was going to last SO LONG.

I have long ago fingered out that life’s blows can either make me or break me. The choice is mine. I have already decided long ago that if anyone or anything determines to take me out, they are not going to do that without a fight. What’s more I have decided that I will not accept any defeat. I have been placed on this earth to accomplish a mission and a mission not worth dying for is a mission not worth following. “But it hurts!” So what? For our “light affliction”, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. (2 Corinthians4:17)

As long as there are souls going to hell. As long as there are broken homes. As long as there are teenage suicides, drug abuse, homeless people etc, you and I cannot have a pity party, we cannot give up and we cannot surrender. We have a mission to accomplish. “But it’s tough!” Yes, and …? “But it’s really hard!” Well keep going. “But people do not always appreciate what I do.” So who are you doing it for anyway, people or God? No one said that it would be easy. When you have finished crying, get up and keep going. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world (John 16:33)

Having Done All to Stand, Stand (September 2008)

Ephesians 6:13-14 … and having done all , to stand. Stand therefore…

Faith is to decide to take a hold of those things that you know that you can have from God and than to refuse to move until you get it. To have faith there has to be a godly objective or conclusion that you passionately desire, something that is worth standing for. If you do not stand for something, you will fall for anything. You need to stand even though it seems that your marraige might end of in divorce. You need to stand even though the dotor told you there is nothing more that he can do. You need to stand even if there is too much month at the end of your money.

Together we need to stand to see our city coming to Christ. Together we need to stand to see His healing going to the nations. Together we need to reach the next generation, and people from every nation, tongue and language. We need to stand and refuse to be moved from our main purpose and objective to further the kingdom of God. Faith is the courage to stand against all the odds, against all the resistance, against all opposition. Faith keeps going even when you do not feel like it. Faith keeps going on even in the midts of pain.

When all seems fruitless and hopeless keep on standing. After you have done everything that you know you should have done, keep on standing. Refuse to budge until God’s power break out in your life, or until your body is healed. Until you receive your breakthrough. Until we see people from all backgrounds and cultures in our city giving their lives to Christ. Live with the conviction that what God has shown you and promised you will come to pass. Do not allow discouragement, frustration, failures, disapointments, or delays to move you from your faith. Having done all to stand, stand.

No Time To Play Church – April 2008

If there was ever a statement that was appropriate for the church then it is the statement “This is no time to play church.” “Playing church” refers to the attitude that a large number of God’s people have towards being a disciple of Jesus Christ. For most Christians being a Christian is all about going to church, giving your tithes and being nice. Some even leave the tithing part out. Christians who “play church” will never impact their world and they are no threat to the kingdom of darkness. These are the “saltless salt” that the Bible speaks about.

If there was ever a time to become more serious about our relationship with God and the kingdom of God, then it is now. We cannot affort playing church because the stakes of failing the mandate that God has given us is too high. The greatest crises that the world is facing today is a lack of the kingdom of God. As a matter of fact, whenever you see a natural war, you need to understand that a spiritual war has been lost. Whenever you see chaos, violence, crime, darkness, hoplessness, turmoil, sickness, poverty etc, understand that the kingdom of God has not come into those areas. To fail in the mandate that God has given us is to fail those thousands of souls that are slipping into Hades every single day.

Furthering the kingdom of God is the single most important task in the universe. It transcends any other human activity or career. We need to tap into all the resources at our disposal to further the cause of the kingdom. We need to employ all the prayers, skills, talents, finances, expertise, technology, human resources, influence, authority, power, etc to see God’s kingdom come and His will be done. We need to contend for the supernatural. So let’s put away our crayons and pick up our swords. Let’s put away the plastic guns and be clothed with heavenly armour. It is time to go to war.

Yours in Christ

A Call to Authenticity (March 2008)

People in the world today long for authenticity. They have been bombarded by so many advertisements, so many choices and so many promises. They have been disappointed more than what they would want to acknowledge. They have been failed in every arena of life. They are looking for something real, something that will provide them with the stability and security that they so long for.

Unfortuanetly, the church has not provided that for them. As a matter of fact, the chuch at large has contributed to this void, this disillusionment, scenic view of the world. It is not say that there are not great dynamic leaders out there in the world. In fact, we have a generation of young people who long to do something great. They grapple with tremendous problems with great enthusiasm in order to find solutions for them.  Yet it seems that the answers to the world’s problems stay just out of reach.

That is where you and I need to come in. We need to lead the world to authenticity. We need authenticity in three areas: in our character, in our walk with God and in our impact in the world we live. Never before has there been an outcry in the hearts of people for the real thing like there is now. They long to see a people of integrity an honour. Many people have come to believe that there are no more honest people on the earth.

They want to see that couples not only stay married, but that married life is a blessing. They need to see loving homes and loving families. They need to say, “It can be done.” They need to look at the believer’s life at work and say, “I want to be like him.”  The call to an authentic life is a call to live like Christ, to walk victoriously over sin and temptations, and to tap into the supernatural power of God. A real person in a real world with real problems need real answers and real power from heaven. You and I can provide people in the world with that kind of authenticity. God has give a special grace to His church in this time to enter authenticity like never before.

Yours in Christ

Maxwell
